StreamJar follows all legal requirements in order to protect your privacy. This privacy policy is a legal statement to explain how your data may be collected by StreamJar and/or its parent, sister and partner companies as well as how your information may be shared and how you can limit what information can be shared. Terms in this privacy policy that are capitalized have meanings as described in Section 1.
"StreamJar’s service" refers to all services offered by StreamJar, including the StreamJar website and StreamJar applications.
"Non Personal Information" is information that cannot be used to identify you or anyone else. StreamJar collects this data automatically as you access the service either via your browser or through applications such as the mobile application and third-party applications. This may also include publicly available information that is shared between yourself and others.
"Personally Identifiable Information" is information that can be used to identify you or anyone else. It is obtained by StreamJar to provide you with their Service at the best quality possible while ensuring proper guidelines are followed such as age restrictions based on laws of your country. This information includes but is not limited to: your name, address, phone number, email address and location.
"Legal Terms" is StreamJar’s Terms of Service declaring what can and cannot be done on their services, as found at https://streamjar.tv/legal/terms.
In general, you control what information you provide when using StreamJar's services. As a visitor to the StreamJar website, you are able to navigate around the site and its components without the need to enter any Personally Identifiable Information.
As a user of StreamJar’s services, you may be required to provide StreamJar with Personally Identifiable Information for reasons explained in Section 1, Paragraph 2 of this document.
You may request that StreamJar provides personal data retained. If you request this personal data, StreamJar will make reasonable efforts to allow you to download an archive of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format, for legitimate requests.
You may request that StreamJar deletes any personal data that StreamJar may store. If you request a deletion, StreamJar will make reasonable efforts to delete your Personally Identifiable Information. StreamJar may still retain some data within database backup archives. If this is the case, StreamJar shall make reasonable efforts to delete backups which may contain your Personally Identifiable Information after deletion in approximately 90 days after deletion.
When using StreamJar's services, some computer information is automatically collected by the software used to allow your connection to such services. This information is sent when connecting through your browser and also when using any application that directly connects to StreamJar's APIs or websites. Any information passed using this method is considered to be Non Personal Information. StreamJar collects:
Cookies
Cookies may be used by StreamJar in order to allow users to stay logged in to StreamJar, and may also be used to temporarily store other settings. Additionally, third-party services used by StreamJar, including (but not limited to) Google Analytics, may use Cookies. This can be prevented by disabling cookies within your web browser’s settings, which may limit the functionality of the StreamJar’s services.
Automatic Information
As stated above, StreamJar receives some information automatically such as IP addresses and information received through HTTP headers. StreamJar uses servers to provide you with the website you are seeing that log some or all of this information. Although this information is Non Personal Information, caution is taken when handling the data to prevent leaks.
StreamJar uses information that it receives either automatically or through your input into forms on the service for many operations including but not limited to:
If you have created a StreamJar account, StreamJar may send emails containing information relating to your account to the email address associated with your account, including (but not limited to) password resets and important information impacting your account. StreamJar will not send marketing emails without your consent.
StreamJar does not sell, rent, or otherwise provide your Personally Identifiable Information to third parties other than StreamJar’s affiliates (such as payment processors and fraud prevention services) for any purposes other than to assist law enforcement agencies in investigations and does not plan to at any point in the future.
Third-party applications may be able to access basic public information relating to your StreamJar account using StreamJar’s public APIs. For example, third-party applications may see your channel’s follow list (as this is publicly available), but email addresses are inaccessible without explicitly providing consent to the application to have access to this information. You may choose to share personal information in this way with third-party applications who use StreamJar’s APIs if you explicitly consent to it through "OAuth" authentication. In this case, you should also refer to the third-party application’s privacy policies.
Affiliates who have an existing agreement with StreamJar will only be given information that is deemed necessary in order to provide their services and are bound by confidentiality agreements to limit the use of provided information.
Examples of where StreamJar may use third-party companies to process data:
StreamJar retains the right to collect and use any Non Personal Information collected from the use of any StreamJar services and aggregate such data for uses such as analytics to improve services. At no time is your Personally Identifiable Information included in such data aggregations.
StreamJar may be required to release both Personally Identifiable Information and Non Personal Information at any time, if such disclosure is (a) required by subpoena, law or other legal process; (b) necessary to assist law enforcement officials or government enforcement agencies as stated in Section 5; (c) necessary to investigate violations of or otherwise enforce our Legal Terms; (d) necessary to protect us from legal action or claims from third parties including you and/or other Members; and/or (e) necessary to protect the legal rights, personal/real property, or personal safety of StreamJar, StreamJar’s users, employees and affiliates.
StreamJar’s service may contain links to other websites that are not under their direct control. These websites may have their own policies regarding privacy and you should read them to be familiar with how they handle data and your privacy. StreamJar has no control of or responsibility for such websites and provides such links solely for the convenience and information of their visitors. You access such linked services at your own risk. These websites are not subject to this Privacy Policy. In addition, these websites may contain a link to services of StreamJar’s affiliates. The websites of StreamJar’s affiliates are not subject to this Privacy Policy and you should ensure that you check their Privacy Policies to be familiar with how they handle data and your privacy.
StreamJar takes data security seriously. We have strict security measures in place to ensure that any data provided to us is prevented against loss, misuse or altered outside of our control. We require SSL when accessing data over both SSL and WebSockets to ensure that data cannot be intercepted, and have restrictions in place to prevent what our employees can do with your information. Only employees that absolutely require access are given it, and we ensure that any data transferred between our servers and employees is done in a secure manner.
Please be aware that while we make every effort possible to secure your personal information, the nature of the internet makes it impossible to guarantee the security of the data transmitted. StreamJar makes no warranties or representations to the security and confidentiality of any data you transmit, and any data you do transmit it done at your own risk. We are unable to guarantee that your information may not be accessed, disclosed, modified or destroyed by break of our our security policies in place.
If you are under the age of 16, please ensure that you only provide us with personally identifiable information after obtaining parental consent. If you are under the age of 13, please do not use or access any part of StreamJar, we do not collect nor maintain personally identifiable information knowingly from people under 13. If you are the parent of a child under 13, we request you e-mail us at support@streamjar.tv so we are able to dispose of this information appropriately. If we learn that personally identifiable information has been gained, we will take the relevant steps to remove the account, and any data linked to it.
StreamJar reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the StreamJar service indicates your agreement with the terms of the Privacy Policy at that time. You should ensure that you review this Privacy Policy frequently in case there is a change.
